Churandy Martina
National hero Churandy Martina (1984) is a sprinter who has competed in the Olympics five times, reaching various finals in London and Rio. Churandy holds the Dutch record in the 60, 100, and 200 meters sprints, as well as the 4 x 100 m relay. Known for his charismatic smile and positive spirit, Churandy brings these qualities to the entire Blue Bay team as our Chief Smile Officer. Additionally, he elevates our sports events to the next level. As Churandy himself would say, this makes us very happy!
Churandy Martina Foundation
Founded in 2022, the Churandy Martina Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating equal opportunities for the youth of Curaçao through a combination of sports, play, and education.
Our mission is to foster an environment where the youth of Curaçao are motivated to improve their skills in both sports and academics. We strive to achieve this by providing children with the resources to develop their athletic abilities while also emphasizing tutoring and academic performance. We aim to create opportunities for children that might otherwise be unavailable. Our goal is to make these opportunities accessible to children from all walks of life, regardless of race, income, gender, or the teams they play for.
The foundation is registered with the Chamber of Commerce in Curaçao. Our statutes are available upon request. All time invested by our staff is completely voluntary.
